The bulk of the items relate to Sellin's work with the Dept. of Social Affairs as one of the United States representatives to the United Nations program in Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders (a program that continued the functions of the International Penal and Penitentiary Commission under the auspices of the United Nations from 1951 onwards).
